Description
This tour will take you to admire the great Capital of the Ancient Mayan Empire, both during the day and night. Enjoy an exciting tour filled with history, special lighting effects and after the show ends you will see an unimaginable amount of stars in the sky that you will not believe your eyes! Chichén Itzá, ancient capital of the Mayan Empire, is the most important archaeological site in the region; it was from the 11th thru the 12th century that Chichén Itzá reached its glory and it was finally abandoned by the 15th century. The UNESCO World Heritage Foundation has declared Chichén Itzá as World Heritage in 1988. When the night falls at Chichén Itzá we are given the opportunity to listen and admire a special show of lights that represent the arrival of Kukulcan (the feathered serpent) to earth descending from the main pyramid; plus you will see the Mayan warriors playing the ball game and listen to the sounds of death and life. Itinerary - Our expedition begins picking up all passengers at the lobby of all hotels (in the Cancún area) to check in at our terminal.
- By 10:15am we depart in a deluxe motor coach bus.
- On our way to Chichén Itzá we will stop for a visit to one of the many beautiful Cenotes (underwater sinkholes) of the region.
- Arrival to the Chichen Hotel, a Mayaland sister hotel, at around 2:00pm and off to a delicious buffet lunch with regional Yucatan dishes that you just have to try out.
- After lunch we will head towards the Mayaland Hotel where we will be ready to enter the mystical Chichén Itzá archaeological site.

- Bring sunscreen and sunglasses, remember to use biodegradable sunscreen, we want to protect the animal life on the oceans from the chemicals used on regular sunscreen.
- You may want to bring a light sweater or jacket as it could get cold on the bus on our way to Chichén Itzá and back.
- Bring an extra t-shirt and towel, just in case.
- Wear comfortable sneakers or tennis shoes, flip flops are not recommended for the archaeological site.
- Please make sure you do not forget to bring your camera!
- Don’t bring tripod for your camera, as it is not allowed to get these inside the archaeological site.
- If you are bringing a video camera there is an extra fee to be paid at the entrance of Chichén Itzá.
